Between the two versions, this is the best. Both in composition and processing. And, contrary to the first comment, I think the sunlight sneaking behind the tree gives the image more... erm.. character.

Yes I'm with you. I like this version better than the other one as well.
The thing with the sunlight. Without this little beam coming through in my opinion the picture would be a little "flat". Now there is this bit of dynamic going on.

Maybe but i live in the Philippines I can't walk anywhere outside my house on the street my mom is afraid someone will kill/rape/mug me ( a crazy squatter was seen near my house). and we get a lot of typhoons here there was a typhoon that flooded the first level of my friend's house she had to ride a truck in the pouring rain to get to a safe place also My maid's family was stranded on their roof top in the typhoon too

I feel sorry for that!
I wasn't trying to offend you. Just sticking to the weather. :)
Of course there are much worse things going on than slippery roads in the morning.
Hope you understand.

Best wishes for you and your family!

Always a funny thing to think about. But after all you might have the nicer weather than we here in Germany. ;)
Snow is always pretty ambivalent. It creates beautiful settings like the one you see on the picture. Kids have fun and it is a pleasure to be outside if you are not too sensitive to cold.
But if it snows while you got to get to work it is one of the most fucked up things in the world. :D

LOVE THE COMP, besides the burst of sharp light from the tree, but that's to be expected

Thanks. Take a look at my gallery. There is another version of this shot, where the sunlight is hidden by the tree trunk.
